Dr. Nir Shani is the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Meatologic Ltd. Prior to this role, he served as Head of Research in the Plastic Surgery Department at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, a leading institution in the field.
As a cell biologist, Dr. Shani’s research focused on adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) and the cryopreservation of large tissues and organs. His work in these areas has contributed to advancements in both regenerative medicine and bioprocessing. In addition to his contributions to the cultivated meat industry, Dr. Shani’s innovations have led to the establishment of two companies, including Cell-Lipo, where he serves as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO).
Dr. Shani earned his Ph.D. from the Weizmann Institute of Science and is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor equivalent) at Tel Aviv University. He is dedicated to applying his expertise to both scientific research and practical applications that drive progress in biotechnology.
