Dr. Ding Shijie is co-founder and CEO of Joes Future Food, the first cultivated meat company in Mainland China. Ding is the first PhD in cultivated meat field, supervised by Prof. Mark Post, "father of cultivated meat", and Prof. Zhou Guanghong, the academic leader of Chinese meat processing. He has been actively engaged in the research work of cultivated meat for 10 years, and is a core member of the team that created China’s first cultivated meat in 2019. Joes Future Food was founded based on this achievement and committed to realizing the beautiful vision of Eating Pork Without Raising Pigs. Ding awarded the title of innovative and entrepreneurial Doctor in Jiangsu Province in 2020, and his research on cultivated meat won the 12th Dabeinong Science and Technology Innovation Award in 2021. His paper won the first prize of Science and Technology Paper of Chinese Journal of Food Science and Technology in 2021.
